Pine Ridge Estates is a hidden gem located in Citrus County; it boasts miles of acreage and is a unique upscale development with diverse styles and layouts. While enjoying the beauty of this area, one will occasionally encounter wildlife. Some of the species that have been sighted are the Sherman fox squirrel, black bear, gopher tortoise, bobcat, eagle, and many varieties of hawks. his area is also home to the bluebird. As you drive through the community, you may notice bluebird boxes that are placed in various locations.
This beautiful community has amazing amenities to offer such as 14 miles of horseback and walking trails, a 94-acre complex with a community barn to accommodate up to 17 property owners’ horses, a large main riding arena that is often used for charitable events, a dressage/jump/cross country arena and much more. The complex has four lighted tennis courts, four lighted pickle ball courts, two shuffleboard courts, an R/C (radio controlled planes) flying field with paved airstrip and a shade pavilion, a state-of-the-art playground with shade cover, swings, and a gazebo. Also, there are two picnic pavilions with charcoal grills and two meeting rooms (one larger for private events with a commercial kitchen and a smaller meeting room with a full kitchen.) The Maintenance and Administrative offices are located at the complex.
Pine Ridge is home to many who enjoy various activities, and there are many clubs to join that are maintained by the resident groups. One of the clubs is the Civic Club, who holds monthly meetings at the Community Center; this group host games, cards, bingo night and they participate/coordinate community clean-up through the Adopt-a-Highway program. Other clubs are the Poker Club, Sewing, Reading, Quilting, Mahjong, Fishing, Airplane, Bowling, Tennis, Golf and Bunco Clubs. Not a part of the amenities, but located within the community, is the Pine Ridge Golf Course. It is a semi-private course with restaurant and bar; the course is challenging and conveniently located off of Elkham Blvd.
The Citrus County area, also known as the Nature Coast, has many beautiful areas to enjoy. Activities to experience are kayaking the springs/rivers, boating the waterways out to the Gulf, and visiting the wildlife center in Homosassa/an archaeology park in Crystal River/historic downtown Inverness, or downtown Crystal River. Annual, traditional festivals and parades are held as well. If that is not enough, you can always find your way to Ocala.
